ATOM Legislative Support

Dear ATOM member:

As we prepare for the start of another legislative session, your help is needed!

Last year we asked you to contact groups and organizations as well as prominent individuals that support our efforts to expand athletic trainers in the schools. Once again we need all athletic trainers to contact your local schools, school boards, PTAs, booster groups, hospitals, physician groups, and other professional association representatives. We need you to remind them of the ongoing need for athletic trainers in Massachusetts schools and to seek out additional supporters. Our list of supporters is strong but can be stronger with your help.

We also need to update our list of athletic trainers who have relationships with Massachusetts legislatures including state senators, representatives and members of their staff. Every relationship, even casual acquaintances, can be important, so please send us the name of any legislator you have a relationship with along with a brief description of the relationship. This data base is very useful and often is our best resource when we need to contact individual legislatures. As a note, ATOM will never use your legislative relationships or the information you provide without contacting you.

With the guidance of the ATOM Executive Council and the help of our new lobbyist we have set an ambitious agenda for the next legislative session.

 We need every Massachusetts athletic trainer working to build support and to send us the names for new and existing supporters as well as the names of our friends in the legislature.
